Spend four unforgettable days immersed in the heart of the French Alps, learning the fundamentals of glacier travel and ice climbing beneath the towering peaks of the Mont Blanc massif. This hands-on workshop combines professional instruction, breathtaking alpine scenery, and authentic mountain culture as you train on the legendary Mer de Glace with internationally recognized mountain guide Jeff Mercier.
From riding the historic Montenvers train into the glacier basin to climbing frozen blue ice surrounded by some of the world’s most iconic mountains, this experience is designed for adventure seekers looking to push beyond their comfort zone in one of the greatest alpine destinations on earth.
Whether you are completely new to ice climbing or already have mountain experience, we will provide guidance, preparation resources, and instruction leading into the trip so you arrive confident and ready to build skills in glacier travel, crampon technique, ice movement, and mountain safety in a supportive small-group environment.
Nestled at the base of Mont Blanc, Chamonix is one of the world’s most legendary mountain towns and the birthplace of modern alpinism. Known for its dramatic glaciers, towering granite peaks, vibrant outdoor culture, and deep mountaineering history, Chamonix attracts climbers, skiers, hikers, and adventurers from around the globe year-round.
In October, the valley offers crisp alpine air, quieter trails, golden autumn colors, and incredible views of snow-covered summits, creating the perfect atmosphere for an immersive mountain experience in the Alps.
